Its an exciting time becoming a new parent and I am passionate about supporting new parents to be. I have been blessed to have met and worked with many parents-to-be in my career throughout the years. I am an experienced qualified Midwife (First Class Bsc Hons), a certified Hypnobirthing Practitioner and a qualified Advanced Reflexologist/holistic therapies, specialising in pregnancy reflexology. I trained as a midwife over 14 years ago in Queens University, Belfast and prior to that I worked as a registered nurse. I trained as a Hypnobirthing practitioner with the Association of Hypnobirthing Midwives (AHBM) in London. This course is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. Throughout my career I have experience in all aspects of midwifery, to include providing care for women in pregnancy, during birth and postnatally. I have experience in giving women antenatal advice and support from early pregnancy in my role as a midwife. I have been involved in many births. I have experience in promoting natural birth in an Obstetric led unit and Midwifery led unit providing support and reassurance to women and their partners and continue to do so. I have cared for women and their families from all different backgrounds, which has been a privilege. I continue to promote natural birth to the best of my ability as a midwife by supporting and giving women choice in making decisions to suit their individual needs. I have the experience, knowledge and skills to further enhance my hypnobirthing classes. I will share my skills with you to help you build your confidence and trust in yourself.
Being a mother of two and personally experiencing birth, as my career as a midwife and being particularly interested in facilitating normal birth. I became fascinated by Hypnobirthing due to women’s positive experiences of childbirth. Women and their partners feel in control, calm and able to cope using Hypnobirthing techniques, even when the birth experience does not turn out as planned.
From my experience of hypnobirthing, the birth experience is so gentle, calm and relaxed.
I want to share my knowledge and experience with you to promote Hypnobirthing as part of women’s antenatal education in promoting a postive empowering birth experience. Many women have shared their personal experiences of Hypnobirthing online and they have given comments such as:
“Quick and Easy, would birth again and again using Hypnobirthing”
“ Very calm birth and calm baby, unbelievable”
“ A completely natural childbirth without any pain relief or intervention”
In my experience as a Midwife, a woman who is relaxed, confident and remains in control will have a better birth experience. Hypnobirthing gives women the opportunity to do so, and I believe that all women should be able to birth this way because gentle birth matters. My clients comments and reviews speak for themselves.
I am a member of The Association of Hypnobirthing Midwives (www.ahbm.co.uk), a member of Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT and a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). I am also a member of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) www.rcm.co.uk
